Hard Proof just premiered the title track from their upcoming new LP, Stinger, over at Relix Magazine!
Chris "Frenchie" Smith (Built to Spill, Meat Puppets, the Toadies) produced Stinger, in which Hard Proof continues to expand on a brassy-inufused palette of sounds that draws on Fela Kuti's Africa 70 band, along with the jazz and funk of sub-Saharan Africa.
About the single, Hard Proof said "Our baritone saxophonist Joseph Woullard brought this song in, and as often goes with his tunes, it read right down and felt really good out of the gate. The hard funk vibe of the tune lent itself well to producer Frenchie Smith's rock leanings, and he encouraged distorted guitars and a screaming bari solo. While we can't really say for sure where the title came from, if you follow the clues in the album art you might get the reference."
